Minaret ban & Egypt's glass house

The Swiss made a bad call by voting to ban minarets in the country. It was xenophobic, racist and not necessary. The result has been a backlash from Muslim leaders worldwide, who have said it is an "insult" to Islam.

This is to be expected, as Muslim leaders know the importance of condemning a ridiculous attack on Islam. However, these leaders, notably Egypt's Grand Mufti, Ali Goma'a, should know better than attack a vote to ban minarets when in his own country, the construction of churches has been curtailed by the government for many years. Judge tells Christian woman 'I would kill you'

Egyptian judge, according to WordNet Daily, said:

A woman arrested at the Cairo airport because her identity card described her as a Christian has been threatened for her faith by the judge in her case, according to a new report.

. . .

The decision to grant her bail came Saturday in the hearing before Hashem after Makkar told the judge about her new Christian faith and her abandonment of Islam.

Tawfiq told Compass Direct "the judge then said, 'I want to talk with Martha alone,' so we all left the room, and he said to her, 'Nobody changes from Muslim to Christian – you are a Muslim.'
