Evangelistic passion at declining-budget state baptist conventions

• Tony Cartledge's overview of the North Carolina Baptist State Convention found budgetary decline and other difficulties masked by a passion for evangelism.
• The Florida Baptist Index reported the convention there likewise taken with evangelism. FBC Jax Watchdog was gently unimpressed. Ted Traylor was happy, as was Russell Franklin.
• Tennessee Baptists elected new slate of officers by acclamation, adopted a reduced budget and honored retiring executive director.
• Baptist General Convention of Texas twitter hash tag (thus far in use): #BGCT
• The Georgia Christian Index featured editor Gerald Harris' fear of socialism, of the fairness doctrine, of gay rights and of other points he promises the Christian Index will emphasize.
• What is going on in Arkansas? Resolutions were adopted and a speech given. More later, we suspect.
• Oklahoma wants to send them out to evangelize the religious state and partner with East Asia.
